hallo,
ist es möglich, dass du den patch irgendwo freigibts? bzw. vielleicht ein kleines howto schreibst würde nämlich auch gerne amarok am ibook verwenden.
Well, that's really great.
I'm running amarok in a really fast x86 box and displaying it in my macmini X11 desktop. Audio is sent through esd to the osx box and it works like a charm!
Details?
I'm going to be getting a Mac at work, and one of the things I will be dying without is amaroK. I know what Fink is, and I did a search on the packages and found this: http://fink.sourceforge.net/pdb/package.php/amarok which I believe indicates that Fink can install amaroK if you're willing to build from source. So is there a way to simply use the unstable Fink repositories and have it install amaroK with a Fink commnd? Are there reasons that this would be bad (such as using X11/KDElibs instead of QT/Mac?) If it doesn't work that way or that would be a bad idea, if you could tell me why that would be great. In addition, if you could give me a more detailed version of what you did, that would be good too (did you use KDE from Fink stable or unstable, what was the patch you made against the amaroK sources, etc.?) Thanks!
Would like to second Jeff. Need some info on getting Amarok running on my Mac.
I'm a latecomer to this post but there's really nobody else talking about this so details would be much appreciated!
There are two main ways: making amaroK work under X11, or natively in OSX.
The first is not emulation, but X11 is generally a pain in the arse (=openoffice on mac for example) I am in the process of installing it on my MacBook. First, download Qt/Mac from Trolltech. Latest open source version is 4.1.4 Extract and compile it using: ./configure -universal (for intel pc) then use make then use sudo make install You then need to set up ur paths. The .profile in ur user home directory has to have "PATH=/usr/local/Trolltech/Qt-4.1.4/bin:$PATH export PATH" added to it. Then, compile and install kdelibs. Refer to help on this at http://www.khaitu.com/projects.php?item=21 as I have yet to finish compiling Qt/Mac (usually takes around 6 hours on a fast computer I think) And then its done. I'll let you know if I succeed. If I do, I'll try to make a Universal Binary for the whole lot. I think there's the demand...
You need to use Qt/Mac greater or equal to 3.3 and less than 4.0.
somewhere along the line one of the packages won't like it if above is not met.
Hey so did someone manage to compile this on there MacBook? or create a universal binary?
Let me know... thanks! - Mu
I got it to install from Fink, but with Xine, there were problems with gstreamer.
For those interested, I developped triggers to control Amarok from the keyboard anywhere in OSX, without having to focus X11. They also provide a nicer OSD staying on top of everything. http://6v8.gamboni.org/Proxi-Controls-for-Amarok-on-OSX.html Add Comment
